Pelephone and yes’s Browsing and Viewing Habits Report

Prologue

Every year, Pelephone and yes publish their annual browsing and viewing habits report, providing a comprehensive in-depth snapshot of media consumption in Israel. The report reveals the year’s most-watched events, the most popular apps, news consumption habits, and much more.

2025 was an exceptional year in Israeli public media consumption: the war with Iran, a second year of fighting in Gaza, an ongoing struggle to secure the release of the hostages and bring them home — events that rattled the public agenda and were clearly reflected in viewing and browsing data.

Story

Toward the end of 2025, Pelephone and yes held a virtual event, revealing the annual report, with journalists from all across the Israeli media landscape. During the event, they were presented with this year’s most-watched television moments, including the outbreak of “Operation Rising Lion”, the hostages’ return to Israel, and the visit of U.S. President Donald Trump to Israel.
In addition, the report addressed one of the most prominent and widely discussed topics of 2025: artificial intelligence. According to the report, ChatGPT was the fastest-growing app of the year, with a 227% surge in usage among Israelis.
Another interesting finding revealed the gap between high usage of AI tools and willingness to pay for them: despite widespread usage, only 17% of Israelis hold a paid premium subscription for AI applications.
Against the backdrop of the rise in antisemitic incidents worldwide during 2025, Pelephone and yes decided to examine how this trend affects Israelis’ vacation habits. The findings were unequivocal: 75% of Israelis said they are more concerned about traveling abroad, and 67% stated that they avoid speaking Hebrew out loud in public places outside of Israel.
In addition to the journalists who participated in the online event, the report was widely distributed to television and radio programs, together with promoting interviews with Dror Bahat, VP of Marketing at Pelephone and yes.

Epilogue

The Pelephone and yes browsing and viewing habits report received broad and significant media exposure across all platforms — financial press, daily newspapers, news websites, radio, and television.
The reveal event was attended by 24 journalists, and overall generated 44 media mentions, reinforcing the positioning of the two companies as an authoritative source for understanding media and consumer trends in Israel.
