To strengthen PayPal's connection to the online shopping experience, we initiated a comprehensive research to examine emerging consumer habits and trends ahead of the highly anticipated Black Friday shopping frenzy. By launching our media campaign a month in advance, we were able to lead the public discourse regarding the November sales with relevant data and analysis. At the same time, we launched an extensive digital campaign with a unique look-and-feel to fortify PayPal's advantages as a global market place for consumers.
As a result, we managed to secure over 50 pieces of earned media clippings across all of the leading news outlets. Furthermore, the research itself quickly became a benchmark for all succeeding coverage and its findings were incorporated in various articles throughout the online shopping season and beyond
