In Israel, Independence Day is celebrated each year with loud fireworks that strongly affect those suffering of PTSD.
Shell shocked from their military service, the sounds take men and women back to their hardest moments, sending them to recluse into their homes, forgetting the idea of celebrating the holiday and at times even seeking special medical care.
Challenge
As part of Peace Natural’s commitment to PSTD patients treated with medical cannabis, a collaboration with “Fighters for Life” NGO led to a billboard campaign calling mayors throughout the country to stop the use of fireworks in their local celebrations.
Results
Within a few days, the country’s cultural and economic capital city of Tel Aviv, announced it will cancel all use of fireworks.
Other cities committed to follow suit next year.
